Curly Hair Tarantula

Image caption yo'
Adult Size: 5-6inch
Locality: Montane and Cloud forests in North America
Habits: Terrestrial
Temperament: Docile
Temperature: 70-80f
Humidity: 60-80%
Diet:Pinhead crickets for spiderlings, adults will happily take larger insects (crickets, cockroaches, locusts etc).
Housing: The Curly Hair Tarantula is a medium sized tarantula and as such does well in a 10 gallon enclosure. It should be kept on a relatively try substrate of coco fibre, compost or similar. A piece of cork bark, plant pot or similar should be provided as a hide, as well as a shallow water bowl.
Notes:
This is a fantastic, and in my opinion sometimes overlooked species which is great for beginners. They are large, confident and docile species which are easy to keep. If you only take a quick glance you could be forgiven for thinking they are a dull species. However on closer inspection they have brown legs which offset the somewhat bronze carapace and their whole body is covered in golden hairs which give them their name.
I know plenty of keepers with expansive collections who still regard their Curly Hair spiders as their favourites due to their docile nature and the fact they will happily sit out in the open; in short they make fantastic spiders for just about everybody.
