Appearance

Baby emerald tree boas are red or yellow. This colouration is lost very quickly (in a matter of a few sheds). Adults are green, with the belly being a yellow which may extend to the bottom jaw. Some specimens display white dorsal stripes.

 

Locality

The Tropics of South America.

 

Adult size

6-7ft.

 

Approx lifespan

Up to 20years.

 

REcomended vivarium size

Floor space is less important than height for this climbing species. Adults require a vivarium no less than 4ft high.

 

Basic set up type

Ventilation is a key feature of this set up. A humid rainforest set up is needed and a high level of ventilation is required. Plenty of large sturdy perches (branches) are required for the ETB to rest on.

 

Diet

The diet of the Emerald Tree Boa should be made up of rodents.
