Appearance

The prairie kingsnake is a relatively heavy-bodied kingsnake and has tan/olive coloured background with darker, irregular saddles.

 

Locality

Indiana, Nebraska, and along the Mississippi valley to eastern Texas.

Up to 4 ft.

 

Approx lifespan

15 years or more.

36x18x15in.

 

Basic set up type

Dry woodland. As with all snakes hides in both the warm end and the cool end must be provided.

 

Diet

A diet made up of rodents is best for the Prairie Kingsnake.
