Rough Green Snake
Opheodrys aestivus
Colubridae
The rough green snake is a slender green snake with keeled scales.
New Jersey, Kansas, The Gulf Coast.
Upto 5ft.
Upto 5years.
18x18x24in (2ft high) for a single specimen.
A densely planted (real or fake plants) vivarium is required by this arboreal species. Use wooden perches secured in place surrounded with dense leafy plants. Water should be provided in droplets off the plants rather than via a waterbowl.
Unlike most snakes, the Rough Green Snake requires regular (3-4 times weekly) meals of gutloaded insects. These should be dusted once weekly with calcium powder.
